Review of Across the Universe (2007) by Curtis S — 11 Apr 2011
While the movie may be polarizing, I was still able to appreciate moments and individual actors, however it tries a bit too much to combine too many undeveloped characters like Rent and the plotline from Hair.
However it's clever use of construing Beatles songs into something coherent (most of the time, with the exception of the entire middle) is something to be appreciated. Luckily Jim Sturges and Joe Anderson make the entire film and worth watching, with say a few impressive dance numbers (military number) and imagery.
However some parts were like watching the retarded offspring of Terry Gilliam & Tim Burton's love child.
