Review of Across the Universe (2007) by Philip Z — 13 Oct 2013

I think the critics were wrong about this one - they seem to be focusing solely on the surface - it's not just a love story with psychedelic musical numbers, it's a way to explore the 1960s through representative characters and music.

It worked beautifully for me, and I'm sure that fans of musical dramas will really enjoy it too. Great staging, fine performances, and always stellar pop tunes by one of the greatest rock bands in history - what's not to like?
