Review of Acrimony (2018) by Andri K — 06 Aug 2018
The critics bashed this one pretty well. It's well deserved feedback in all honesty. Yet, as with all of TP's films, there's an element of originally that you don't often see in feature films.
For example, Taraji uses this platform to show off her ever growing chops as the unhinged woman scorned. As one critic said, the crash scene where she toppled an RV was epic. TP is not afraid to go to places like this.
He makes it look easy somehow. Sure, we've all seen Fatal Attraction. This is a more glamorous looking update. Yes, it's full of wild fantasy, but I had to see how it ended. Ok, I admit, my name is Robert, too.
And I am extremely creative and inventive as well, so I empathized with the unlikely heroin who finally saw all his dreams realized. So I rooted for Robert all along. Look closely and you'll see this movie is just not that bad.
It's not perfect, but not lacking in the ways expressed by the critics.
