I actually always liked the sequel slightly better for some reason. It is just as ridiculous and over the top, but with more gags I remember and enjoyed. These movies are never gonna be big award winners, and really they aren't even the funniest comedies I've ever seen as they sometimes rely a little too much on the outrageous Jim Carrey's silly antics to get a laugh.
..but they won't hurt anybody. I do, however, find the slinky gag to be borderline genius.
