Review of Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994) by Ashley A — 13 Dec 2012

I don't know if the humor and style is simply dated, almost 20 years later, or just too juvenile for me too appreciate any more. As much as I love Jim Carrey, his Ace Ventura is a collection of annoying tics and exaggerated emoting and movements.

And the movie itself is rarely funny. It really feels like a comedy style that is nearly extinct these days, as has this kind of movie, one of those giant, star-driven PG-13 comedies, which today is usually rated R.
