JIm Carrey's signature style may never have been more in play than as Ace Ventura in the 1993 comedy, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. HIs rare breed of physical comedy makes Ace Ventura work , putting entertaining comedic sequences together, even without a decent plot-line to follow.

At the appropriate length of 86 min, Ace Ventura's first adventure won't bore you, and the comedy is just funny enough to be worth the short running length. If you are looking for an above average detective story, look somewhere else.
