Review of Ace Attorney (2012) by Adriano B — 04 Jun 2013
What does Miike do when he feels playful? It plays, apparantely: not with the GB Advance, I ain't tellin ya $ hit, but with cliche & tropes. So he takes everything given for certain in a well cemented, mostly predictable (Hollywood) genre, the procedural court drama, and strips it from the founding substance: logic.
The result is a fun extravaganza, a only half formed parody with lot of self-comfidence, involuted but full of wonder.
