Review of According to Greta (2009) by Rennie H — 17 Jan 2010
Possible spoilers:
This description of the movie is way off. That is a very small part of what this movie is about. Things I didn't like about this movie was Duff's performance on the most part. Sometimes she was great, like the moment her grandmother ignores her and goes upstairs, but other times I didn't feel the despair of a suicidal girl. I really liked that the movie pushed that getting better is a choice, that no one else can fix you, but they can help you out if you want to fix yourself. I didn't like that everything fell into place for Greta - she began mending her relationship with her mom and she had a boy standing on the side waiting to love her. What about those in real life who don't have that...? Overall, well constructed, and a decent watch. I liked that Duff was the Executive Producer on this movie, lending a youth/young adult's perspective to the storyline.
