Review of Accepted (2006) by Jim M — 23 Jun 2009
Continuing that Eternal Conflict between slobs and snobs comes accepted, an efficient if familiar take on the concept. Collage reject Justin Long and his buddies create a fake collage to fool their parents, when that works too well they decided to role with it setting them against a neighboring elitist insitution. Long now must keep the deception going, stay out of jail, upstage the snobs and win over the girl of his dreams. We've seen this movie before sometimes done better, sometimes done worse. The movies good for some laughs but honestly I can't think of a reason to seek this one out other then Lewis Blacks rants and even then you can prolly find most of them (and a lot of his better stuff) on YouTube. Watch it if you get a chance but don't go out of your way to see it.
Sidenote: Saying Fuck more then once nets you an R rating, but you can have your characters say Shit until there blue in the face and still maintain a PG-13? Who's running the ratings board? My suggestion woulda been to say Fuck it, go for the R rating and maybe throw in a bit of nudity to kick things up a bit.
