Review of Accepted (2006) by Ian B — 19 Nov 2011
A perfect example of a great cast making the most from a terrible script. As soon as the movie starts you know how it's all gonna end. It's ridiculously cliched and predictable....that being said it's also surprisingly funny and filled with some great performances.
Justin Long, Jonah Hill and Lewis Black provide all the laughs and actually make this movie not only watchable, but enjoyable. The cliches (such as the evil dean, cheesy life lessons and uplifting speech at the end) should have made me turn this movie off, but I was too busy laughing my ass off.
And that's what comedies (no matter how badly written) are supposed to do. Predictable but enjoyable.
