Review of Absolute Power (1997) by Dan Y — 02 Jun 2009
Classic, classic Clint Eastwood movie! He also directed this one.
Eastwood is Luther Whitney, one of the best thieves around and the oldest who still breaks into a house once in a while in Washington, DC. He infiltrates the home of a wealthy philanthropist but ends up witnessing a murder and it's not just any murder, it involves the president of the United States. Whitney and the president have to match wits as he has a couple of Secret Service agents who will do his dirty work go after not only Whitney but his family too.
Gene Hackman plays the president, he's great at being a sleazy, disgusting thug. Ed Harris stars too as a cop. We've also got Penny Gerald Johnson, this was only a few years before she had the role of Sherry Palmer in season one of 24 and returned in two more seasons. If you haven't seen Absolute Power, I don't know what the hell you're waiting for! Check it out.
