Absentia was great for an independent horror picture, but it felt weak on the first act. As a filmmaker you never leave the first act weakened or else people will stop watching it. Mike Flanagan did a really good job directing it even if some the characters, scenes and also music weren't necessary in my opinion.

I almost forgot the poster makes Absentia look like an action packed horror which isn't, it's very slow, but still interesting to watch. Phase 4 Films should continue making more movies.
