Review of Absence of Malice (1981) by Steve S — 14 Dec 2009
*** (out of four).
Superbly acted by Sally Field and Paul Newman, and Melinda Dillon, and director by Sidney Pollack, "Absence of Malice" offers a fairly routine plot and delivery but is saved by the cast.
Field plays an ambitious newspaper reporter who is investigating a story that leads her Newman, a man with mob connections.
