Review of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (2012) by Jacob F — 07 Apr 2014
The premise is both brilliant and absurd at one time. Stories which alter historical events by putting supernatural or Sci-Fi spins on them can be brilliant, engineered to make some form of ludicrous sense and I love it.
However, honest Abe? Really? Maybe if the story was set in the backdrop if the civil war, with Lincoln in the know of the vampire threat, igniting the civil to fight them while some other vampire hunter goes toe to toe or something , it could have been decidedly less silly and more matched to the atmosphere and tone - both nice and dark - of the movie.
