Why was this made? Obviously, because why not. The book was phenomenal, the movie, not so much. A misfit cast with Anthony Mackie and Jimmi Simpson fails to deliver. The humor that seemed like it should be present took a very distant backseat to the serious tone of this melodramatic, distorted depiction of Abe Lincoln's story.
