There are some genuinely comedic moments in this film....however, I feel the director and actors tried too hard in this one....it is very dry humor that I think that tried to sell too much....jack is and always will be one of the greatest actors of all time, but he fell a little short here.
...and the kathy bates nude scene, they didn't have to show, but I guess they felt it necessary to add to the humorous situation that was unfolding....i do have to give props to dermot mulroney for going against his pretty boy image and agreeing to have a balding mullet.
