Review of About Schmidt (2002) by George D — 21 May 2012
Nicholson can do no wrong. About Schmidt is a very earnest film about a man who feels so isolated in the world that he's lost a sense of purpose. Yet, ironically, the film itself is a bit overly self indulgent with it's intended message and purpose.
There are scenes that feel a little too contrived and forced to bring across a point. However, Nicholson's character's descent is acted and written so well that it alone can hold the movie together.
