Review of About Last Night... (1986) by Blais E — 06 Feb 2011
An earnestly well-made, realistic , & very moving view of what begins as a casual hook-up in late 80's Chicago between Rob Lowe and Demi Moore, & slowly grows into a very intense love affair.
At times a little sudsy and soap opera-ish, and the characters tend to whine a little and the film is perhaps a little dated now, but the four principles give fabulous performances, with Jim Belushi as Lowe's comical-slob best friend & Elizabeth Perkins's turn as Moore's VERY cynical & bitter confidant the standouts.
The chemistry between Moore & Lowe is so real & authentic, you really can believe they were lovers, & Moore is truly lovely here. Great soundtrack, also, which I played to death!
