Review of About Last Night... (1986) by Dave S — 08 Feb 2011
Lowe and Moore both bring their strengths from "St. Elmo's Fire": she can be an impressive actress at times, and he has impressive hair. But while "St. Elmo's" is almost certainly a worse movie, it's often more watchable than this, which gives a serious and frank look at a relationship in a very middle-of-the-road way.
Moore and Lowe are likable enough but too often they seem to be fighting over nothing in particular, and their respective friends are weirdly written to constantly try to break up the leads and generally act like monogamy is an entirely foreign and offensive concept.
I was going to give bonus points for featuring 1980s Chicago, but it actually doesn't look that much different today.
