Review of About Alex (2014) by Meghna P — 22 Aug 2014
Woe is me and anybody else pulled into the high drama found at the center of About Alex, a modern-day take of The Big Chill in which a group of college friends reunite and reminisce about what they either had or didn't have in college when life was a bit less stressful and they all believed life would end up as planned.
After one of their number attempts suicide, the other six rush back to be by his side vowing never to sugarcoat the act or high-stakes situation. The film is one dramatic revelation after another and it makes me wonder how any of these guys remained friends after college.
Jason Ritter plays the suicidal Alex while Maggie Grace, Max Greenfield, Aubrey Plaza and Max Minghella play the remaining college and post-college friends.
