Review of About a Boy (2002) by Steven L — 14 Mar 2012
Chris Weitz does a great job of portraying an unconventional family drama of a "father-son" relationship by which each character's weakness is transformed by the other's strength. Moving and humorous at the same time, Weitz cleverly uses a combination of VoiceOver, montages, and bluesy music in a way that actually works! These devices move the story forward rather than hindering it or rendering it too predictable.
