Review of About a Boy (2002) by Martha R — 01 Jan 2013
Every time I see this movie, I see a little something in it I haven't before. It's charming, because Hugh Grant is charming in the rôle you suspect is just... him; it's pathetic, because Nicholas Hoult plays the loser I have always really been; it's romantic, it's incisive, it's touching, it makes me laugh out loud.
It is one of the finest films I have ever seen, and I could watch it again and again to catch the nuances that always make it worth the time.
