Review of About a Boy (2002) by Martin R — 15 Dec 2013
When I was a young lad, I recall going through the channels--not a single interesting thing to watch as usual--when I came across "About a Boy." I'm not sure why but I didn't pass through the channel and.
...I liked what I saw. I bought the DVD at a yard sale in Front Royal for a bone a while ago and having seen it again today [12/4/13] I figured that I should review it. One word: charm; that's what the film has and that's what makes it so.
...'irresistible.' It's funny, not so much in LMFAO way, but it's enough to prevent viewers from releasing itself of the film's grip. I'm reminded of what I typed for my review of "the Way, Way Back"--something like: "this film's a fusion of drama and comedy.
.." Well the same is true here and like the previously mentioned film, "About a Boy" is also a product of perfect mixture.
