Review of ABCs of Death 2 (2014) by Tyler R — 04 Oct 2014
When Drafthouse Films announced that they were going to put together a sequel to their anthology film The ABCs Of Death I thought but the first one just got released it's a bit soon to be releasing a sequel.
But I have to say the ABCs Of Death 2 is a little bit better this time around. Now the conceit behind this series is 26 directors are hired on to direct a short about death following a letter of the alphabet.
ABCs Of Death 2 has a lot of awesome shorts. One features a hitman whose devising a plan to kill a low level thug but then when he gets on assignment reality sets in and it becomes darkly hilarious. Another one features a woman getting revenge against a group of amateur filmmakers who were humiliating her.
Another one features a woman being put on trial for murder but then there's a funny twist to an old story. One more tale features a group of three down in a basement playing a game of Russian roulette while something is going on outside.
This ABCs Of Death is a really awesome follow up and I hope they make a third one because these movies are getting better and this one is a lot more fun then the last one. The last one was simply a horror anthology film that delivered scares as well as some laughs.
This one has some scares but most of it is really darkly funny. I hope to see an ABCs Of Death 3 because this series seems to be getting better.
