Review of Abar, the First Black Superman (1977) by Jab B — 28 Oct 2009
Black superman is black kryptonite. im not sure what that color of kryptonite does besides making me watch a horrible movie. overpreachy, hypocritical and sort of pretentious, there is not even a hint of supermanity until the end of the movie, where abar becomes black superman via potion (which is somehow then a gift from jesus).
his solution to the ghetto is giving milk to hobos and sending pot smokers to college. black superman, if you send them to college, im betting theyre still going to be smoking pot. also, besides invunerability (the only superman like power he posseses) , he has some sort of psychic power that gets him to do all these things.
so he is really more of a black conner kent superboy. too bad he isnt a black jason todd robin.
