Review of Ab-normal Beauty (2004) by Macarena P — 05 Jan 2009
This was a great movie for those who aren't into the absolutely morbid Asian horror flicks. The first half of the movie moves along to show how Jiney starts to obsess over taking photographs of death and why she feels the way she does.
It could have been a great short film with just the first half alone. Just when Jiney thinks she can heal her weary soul and stop with the death obsession she starts receiving death photographs and then snuff films.
I wont spoil the movie but the emotions that are played out moved me. I am sure that having your real sister in the film probably helps stir emotions. Great acting, music, sets, just all around beautiful movie.
Last 20 minutes is where the more disturbing action takes place so if you don't like that stuff just stop watching at the middle of the movie.
