Trying to fit all of the source material into one feature-length film means that a lot of the original action was cut. there is a small pacing problem as a result - lots of buildup, then an almost unbelievably swift resolution.
but overall, the film is heartwarming, engaging, evocative, modern, empowering, and stunningly beautiful to look at.
