Review of A Wrinkle in Time (2018) by Andreas M — 19 Mar 2018
It's a rather rudimentary adaption of a book that is anything but. While the film lacks the tone and messaging that makes the book unique. Rather than a whimsical sci-fi tale, they settle for a cliched fantasy retelling of the plot, and on a whole it feels rather uninspired, Perhaps there was too much focus on external circumstances of the film (the director/main actress/oprah) and less on the substance of the story.
If a faithful adaption is what you were looking for, look elewhere. If another "Find yourself" fantasy family film is what you want, this sort of scratches that itch.
