I want a movie to engage me emotionally; make me care for the characters, and be immersed in the story. I felt like Wrinkle in Time made really heavy emotional demands from the start, and never let up.
Half way through I was exhausted and desensitized, rolling my eyes rather than tearing up. On the upside, the kids dug it.
