Review of A Wrinkle in Time (2018) by Wrye S — 06 Apr 2018
The critics are missing the point: this film is about not listening to the negative critics in your head or out of them--the message is strong: treating each other with kindness and good intent draws us away from the destructive forces of negativity, self-doubt, and self-hatred.
Don't believe everything you think, and if you're a critic, don't say everything you believe. If you're a parent, bring your 9-13 year old kids--it will inoculate them against the meanies.
If you're an adult, bring your inner child and remember what it's like to give in to fantasy--it's a hard book to bring to screen but a great message. Suspend your judgment, forget that "the book doesn't have that scene" and believe that you can make a difference by choosing to support, rather than tear down those who have the courage to try.
