Review of A Wrinkle in Time (2018) by Flexedacorn — 19 Mar 2018
I did not love or hate the movie adaptation of “A Wrinkle in Time”. I read the book prior to seeing the movie, and personally I didn’t really care for either iteration of the story. Both book and movie, felt as if they were made up of multiple scenes crammed together, then a single flowing story.
The movie adaptation did clean some things up I didn’t like in the book by added more depth to create more believable character motivations. The one big saving grace for this movie was it had some very impressive visuals throughout the second half of the film.
Overall the story just felt empty to me. I never really felt attached to any of the characters and quite frankly I didn’t like the little boy who played (Charles Wallace). It’s a passable movie in theaters, but not a bad kids movie to watch on TV with the family.
