This was a great movie with a message. The visuals were stunning and although the movie starts off slow, that is understandable if this is the first movie with sequels to come in the future covering the four other books.
The length of the movie was much more easily digestible in its' length than the 2003 rendition which was 4 hours long but this split up of the books into separate movies doesn't leave the audience with the action and the stimulation some people may have desired but that level of action won't be present until the later movies.
If you would like to see more into this universe then I recommend supporting this movie so that we can see the other four books.
