Review of A Wrinkle in Time (2018) by Chanse B — 07 Sep 2018
If only they had put as much work into the storytelling as they did visuals and music, this would have BEEN a hit. However, it did not flow. Even in the first 10 minutes, the writing of the characters is betrayed.
They don't act the way they were written, it's like they are a new person. If the characters would actually develop and not do things because "oh, they're mean" or "oh, but she's a hero".
There was some aspects in the story I found lovable, and I would watch it again, and the visuals are the only thing that makes the film worth watching. The director definitely has potential, but you should make a story before visuals.
If it was a good movie in just one room for 2 hours, then it's a good movie. This movie would be better off as a silent film, because this was a good visual story teller, but when it had context, it all went downhill.
