Review of A Wrinkle in Time (2018) by Logan B — 31 Aug 2018
The book won every children's book award under the sun. It was hailed when my children was just the age of the heroine and her guypal, though it had been pubished a decade earlier. They did a really fine job of this I think - except that, with the topic so much about the abstract and imagination, there would always be the problem: when we make the story a film, the imagination of the reader is no longer included - the images are there to see, NOT imagine any longer. A HUGE berm in the road of such a film project.
So for 50 years there was NO movie version of this top award-winning book. But thanks to today's neat special effects, it was not a limited experience. The visuals in the film were not disappointing.
Thank you to all who played a part in this story that is bound to join our FAVORITES.
