I really wanted to like this this film, but what should have been emotionally significant or touching was just... sappy. Sparse action scenes were underwhelming, martial arts obviously not the focal point of the film.
The one thing I really enjoyed were the bucolic scenes of the Chinese countryside. Stunning.
