Review of A Woman Under the Influence (1974) by Paula C — 14 Jul 2008
One of the most harrowing films I've ever seen. My first Cassavetes and what a film! Where does one begin explaining it? The story of a mad woman named Mabel and her well-meaning but frustrated husband? Not exactly.
This riveting and upsetting depiction of trying to be normal, functioning members of society rings so true and so loudly. Powerful film.
