Review of A Woman Under the Influence (1974) by Daniel C — 14 Oct 2010
I watched this film when it first came out and have recently bought a copy for myself. I was overwhelmed the first time I saw it and it stands the test of time. As with all Cassavettes' films it is real, belevieable and simply directed with an excellent choice of actors seemingly left to supply the dialogue and developement themselves.
Gina Rowlands and Peter Falk both give their best performances ever. A brilliant film and probably Cassavettes' best.
