With talented names like anupan kher and naseerudin shah in the cast, one cannot underestimate this film. althought it is a short film, there is way too much packed into it. the powerful performences by kher and shah are beyond acclaim, but aamir bashir and jimmy shergill also make thier mark.

the irony and the tragic twist of this film is that film is titled wednesday and mumbai recently witnessed one of its worst wednesdays in its modern history.. the film is very fast paced and at times they could have slowed it down just a hair to get the complete feel.

For example, that scene where jimmy is being convinced by the terrorist to side with the muslims could have used a bit more punch to it.. the final monologue by naseerudin shah in the climax was a bit filmy, but got the point across and the climax, as great as it was, was too sudden.

. just happened, which was good, but again didnt hit punch as it should have. the best part was how they kept the anonymity of certain characters. the message and concept was great, but many may see it as "rang de basanti" effect, which is to say that when you are not happy with the system, the common man has the right to go to extremes.

. but again all these are films and the major extremeties in films will only lead to a small percentage of change in real life, if any at all.. a good watch, great direction, fast paced and somehow with a good message.

. and anupam kher literally kicks ass when he goes in and strarts beating up the one guy (sorry for the spoiler, but that was pure badass).
