Review of A Walk to Remember (2002) by Jesse R — 04 Jan 2013
I've seen the positive and negative reviews for this film (it being corny or mushy), but I loved this film. For me personally, it hit close to home. I lost a friend with Cystic Fibrosis back in 2001 and we were an item at one time. She was 18 while I was 21 and I was able to visit with her a year before she passed away. So Mandy Moore's character (Jamie) reminded me of my friend Christy.
This movie touched on a few subjects that we went through, but losing someone you loved, a friend, and a partner in life is very hard.
I've always thought (and still do) that Mandy Moore was very pretty and she blossomed in this film. I believe this was her first starting role. It's nice and refreshing to see someone stay on the right path in life.
Many people will remember Shane West who plays Landon from his days on ER (2004-2009).
For anyone who enjoyed this movie, check out the book by Nicholas Sparks.
