Review of A Walk to Remember (2002) by Nick P — 01 Jul 2014
I expected A Walk to Remember to be cheesy and sugary with horrible acting. Well, the acting was actually pretty good. But I definitely was right on it being cheesy and sugary. It seems as though Nicholas Sparks movies all have the same note and repetitive in its themes, never giving any surprises or actual heart-breaking moments. It's all forced and romanticized. It's praised by teens, of course, and teens do not have bad taste at all. But even as one myself, I question some of their expectations. Maybe its the lowest with romance films, even lower than horror films.
Mandy Moore is good in this and so is Shane West but A Walk To Remember falls too short off of the ladder and almost dies. It isn't terrible, just OK.
