Review of A Walk to Beautiful (2007) by Inasanlagamatabte S — 12 May 2010
We walk with these young Ethiopian women as they travel far from the homes they have been both abused and treated as outcasts after their young bodies are damaged after difficult childbirths. These young women all in their teens are considered "damaged" and shunned by their villages and treated as outcasts.
They travel to the one hospital that offers them hope. The director's focus is on the women and her camera's eye is just as remarkable on these desperate womens faces as it is on the views of Ethiopia.
Highly recommended.
