I don't get it. Who made the decision to portray two men in their 40's by using two actors in their late 70's? I am guessing that Mr Bryson was so thrilled by his character being played by Robert Reford that he didn't see how badly it would compromise the theme of the book.

Redford does a somewhat credible job of trying to appear younger but Nick Nolte as Katz? Pity, it is one of my all time favorite books and the film appears to be mediocre at best.
