Review of A Walk in the Woods (2015) by Kemson C — 31 Aug 2015
This is one of those rare movies that the public will love, even as the critics scowl and jeer, which they have already begun to do. I have not seen a movie in recent memory that got this many consistent laughs, nearly one big laugh every two minutes.
All other aspects of the movie aside, this movie is about the bickering chemistry of two old friends. Nick Nolte is the highlight, stealing every scene he is in. Ultimately, this is a cartoon for adults, but -- as that -- it absolutely delivers.
Oreos are great, so long as you are not expecting nutritious value from them. A Walk in the Woods is the "Oreos" of twilight-years buddy movies. From what I saw, the audience really enjoyed themselves.
Word of mouth is going to give this movie a very long run. No pun intended, of course.
