Review of A Walk in the Woods (2015) by Vanessa V — 08 Jan 2016
Pedestrian is a good way to describe it, given the title, but perhaps that is generous. The 'Bromance' scenes are unconvincing and awkward; even Emma Thompson looks uncomfortable. Redford fails to capture Bill Bryson's charm and curiosity.
Nick Nolte is too convincing as his now-sober sidekick; you just wish he would fall off the cliff in a drunken stupor and end the movie sooner.
