Review of A Walk Among the Tombstones (2014) by James R — 14 Nov 2014
Based on the Lawrence Black mystery novel, A Walk Among the Tombstones is actually quite good. Director Scott Frank (who last directed the brilliant film, The Lookout 2007), brings us to one of the middle novels which finds Private Investigator Matthew Scudder (Liam Neeson) hired by a drug trafficker named Kenny Kristo (Dan Stevens) to find the men responsible for the kidnapping and murder of his wife.
Along the way Scudder soon realizes that the men who are responsible are more connected than he thought to other murders that had happened. The movie I would say moves a bit slow at times, but the plot is very well done and has a satisfying ending to it.
Neeson does an amazing job as Scudder and makes you feel for him especially after learning about his past. The movie is a great mystery film full of some thrills. I highly recommend giving this one a look!
