Review of A Walk Among the Tombstones (2014) by Gordon S — 17 Jul 2016
This movie is not the full-on action movie it looks like. Liam Neeson is always reliable really and does another good job here, showing the intensity and clear horrors of police work. However, I would not recommend this movie if you have a short attention span as names from earlier in the film will keep popping up later.
This is a clever and thinking movie for the most part, with not so many action sequences as it may look like but it is still entertaining to watch Neeson in perhaps a different type of role and basically joining the dots.
He is not shown as a veteran fighter and that adds real intensity to the fight sequences there are as you seriously fear whether or not the hero will survive. Overall, it is not precisely what was promised with a good start before slowing down and then picking up again at the end but will still entertain you if you are prepared to see Neeson in roles where he is not killing something every 5 or 10 minutes.
