Review of A View to a Kill (1985) by James S — 26 Aug 2009
Highly underrated entry into the Bond franchise that really gets an undeserved hard time.
Okay, so Roger Moore looks like he's about a hundred by this film, and Tanya Roberts is one of the most forgettable Bond girls but those two niggles aside this is a hell of a lot of fun.
Christopher Walken's psychotic Max Zorin is pure Bond villain gold, Grace Jones' henchwoman Mayday is another memorable turn. There are some great unintentional laughs due to the cringeworthy dialogue. Anyone who doesn't break a smile over the Bond/Miss Jenny Flex conversation must have no sense of humour.
Add to that some ace action sequences atop the eiffel tower and the Golden Gate bridge and you have one of the most all round entertaining movies of the franchise.
