Review of A View to a Kill (1985) by Chris R — 11 Nov 2015
While 'A View to a Kill' is nowhere near the best film that 007 offers us, it has it's strong moments and a wonderful villain in Max Zorin (Christopher Walken). The bond girl of this film (Who would later go on to star in 'That 70's Show') is without a doubt the worst bond girl I can think of with her just screaming Bond's name over and over again and providing little else for the film.
Roger Moore as Bond is has very little to work with and to be honest I agree with Moore when he said he was too old for the role at this point and even though I like Moore's Bond a lot more than most, I have to agree with him there.
The only other negative I have to say is that the film is very dated and screams 80's to a T. The film has it's moments however, like I said the villain is wonderfully mad and the set pieces are very different and great to look at.
The story is also a retro 'Goldfinger' type plot with a take over the world type that we've come to expect from Bond. Overall, the film is a weak entry in the 007 series, but I've always liked Bond films no matter what and easily look over a lot of flaws for the most part.
I've also seen a lot worse from both Bond and the action genre in general. I would recommend at least a rent for any Bond fan.
