Sweeping romance, epic war, and a intriguing mystery all rolled into one film, it certainly blends a lot of genres together seamlessly. Like his previous film Ameile the production designer and color pallet of the film is amazing.
I loved the wash of yellow's, green's, and brown's that were predominant in the present and the war flashbacks were more of a cold grey/blue. Also like Amelie it has that fairy tale feel to it.
With corky and unique characters. I'm slowly started to fall in love with french films. Audrey Tautou is amazing as per usual.
