Review of A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas (2011) by Manny C — 03 Apr 2012
A Very Harold and Kumar 3-D Christmas is basically the same movie that was aalso 2004's Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle and 2008's Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay. It's just set at Christmastime.
Kumar (Kal Penn), son of Indiana immigrants, is still a stoner slacker, but his best buddy, Korean Harold (John Cho) is living it up on Wall Street with his hot Latina wife, who is ovulating. 'Fuck a baby into me, Harold,' she implores.
It's more of the same humor, but the impact isn't there. Soon enough Kumar calls up Harold, they smoke weed and then some with the daughter of Harold's friend. It only sounds funny. Neil Patrick Harris, or NPH as he's known here, is back of course, playing a version of himself that's an oversexed pussyhound.
All in all, Harold and Kumar have run out of gas.
